Birtenshaw School Working for Best Practice with Teaching Assistant Award

In the New Year, Birtenshaw School will be working towards achieving the Best Practice with Teaching Assistant Award, which is a quality mark framework showing how Birtenshaw School works with Learning Support Assistants.

The award will help Birtenshaw School to work more effectively with Learning Support Assistants to support pupils’ attainment and well-being across all areas of the School.

Through a process of self-evaluation, action planning for improvement and evidence collection, the team at Birtenshaw School will be discovering ways to support the work of Learning Support Assistants, maximising their impact to benefit the whole school.

Julie Barnes, Head Teacher at Birtenshaw School, said:

“Learning Support Assistants have a big influence on pupils’ learning, and working towards this Award will be recognition of their hugely important role in the School”.
