Birtenshaw’s triple nomination in national awards!
Three Birtenshaw staff members in our Care services have become regional finalists for the GB Care Awards 2016. The North West Finals will be held in Manchester next Friday 11 November.
Birtenshaw has three Finalists in three different categories:
The Care Home Registered Manager Award: Mark Brennan
Mark has been a valued and respected staff member at Birtenshaw for over four years, managing one of Birtenshaw’s specialist Children’s Homes and his team of staff supporting the children and young people who live there. Asked about his proudest moment at work, Mark said:
“Being rated Outstanding twice by Ofsted was fantastic. But really that’s just validation of what we already know. The best thing is hearing the feedback from the parents and carers of the children and young people; that’s when you know you’ve done a good job.”
The Care Home Worker Award: Jan Liptrott
Jan has been a fantastic and dedicated worker at Birtenshaw for over 6 years and has worked in a number of our services including a couple of our specialist Children’s Homes. Jan spoke about what she enjoyed most about her job:
“I enjoy everything! The young people most of all, seeing the progress they make. The results are amazing – how quickly they can progress. I just love the job.”
The Care Newcomer Award: Kerry Smith
Kerry is a brilliant recent addition to Birtenshaw and has been with us for 11 months. Kerry said that her proudest moment has been:
“Being nominated for the GB Care Awards of course! It’s so nice to hear that your colleagues think well of you.”
The three Finalists and their guests will be attending a glamorous awards ceremony in Manchester next week, and we’ll be profiling each Finalist individually here on the blog.
All their friends and colleagues at Birtenshaw wish them the very best of luck!
