As part of Black History Month, the pupils in Tucana class (at Birtenshaw School, Merseyside) each chose a black icon that they wished to research. The young people then wrote tweets to their chosen person (Usain Bolt, Anthony Joshua, Mo Saleh and the Black Panther Movie).

As well as this, the class produced some excellent work. We created Black Lives Matters posters in our Art lessons

In English we imagined that we were interviewing our icons and thought of questions to ask them.

Finally we made a huge picture of Nelson Mandela. This was made up of 20 smaller pieces which we coloured individually.
