David Reid wins prestigious award for his work in Learning Disability and Autism Services!
Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards 2018
We are delighted to announce that Birtenshaw’s Chief Executive, David Reid, has been recognised nationally for his work in Learning Disability and Autism services at a prestigious black tie event on Friday 29 June 2018 at the ICC, Birmingham.
The Outstanding Contribution Award
David Reid, Chief Executive, Birtenshaw
‘Although all the candidates for this award were worthy of winning it was clear that David’s focus and drive to turn Birtenshaw’s fate around for the people it serves, shone through. Whilst talking to David it was clear that he took little credit for the work he has achieved during the last ten years and promoted the work and commitment of his team to the success achieved. Without self-promotion David’s passion and commitment were evident. Celebration and praise of his team and the people who use the services are his main driver. A very worthy winner’.
David has said that he was surprised to find out he was a finalist for this award as he did not know he had been nominated and that he was shocked to win.
He said ‘Although I was completely shocked to hear my name called out, I am delighted to accept this award on behalf of all staff at Birtenshaw and the people we support. It is wonderful to be recognised nationally for the quality of the services we provide and for the positive impact we have on the lives of young people with learning disability and/or Autism’
