Employee of the Month for April 2020 has been awarded to two employees this month due to the high number of nominations received: Rachel Taylor (Registered Manager -Barley Brook) and Malcolm Leahair (Learning Support Assistant – College).
Rachel has been very supportive to both staff and young people during the current Covid-19 crisis, demonstrating enthusiasm and optimal exuberance throughout unprecedented times. She has managed the Corona Virus tests for staff and regularly updated them at all times. Rachel has also taken on extra tasks, such as shopping in her own time, to ensure the smooth running of the Children’s Home.
Malcolm had settled quickly into his role at College, since starting in February 2020, providing excellent support to the learners. During the coronavirus crisis he was redeployed. Since being redeployed Malcolm has moved from ‘day work’ to ‘shift work’ as a support worker in Crompton Way, Adult Supported Tenancy. During this time he has shown a flexible approach and has taken on the role with great enthusiasm. Feedback received said his innovative ideas have been ‘a breath of fresh air’ and his ‘enthusiasm is infectious’, as is obvious with the response of young people to his presence.
Well done Rachel and Malcolm, keep up the good work!
