Hayley Cope – November

The second person to receive the title of ‘Employee Of The Month’ was Hayley Cope – nominated by her whole team.

Her nomination said:

Hayley is always positive which boosts morale within the home and raises the positivity of other working alongside her.

Hayley has been a good mentor for new staff and helped them find their feet and settle in to Hondwith.

Hayley is always willing to help others and always puts the needs of the young people first.

If needed, Hayley stays on above her contracted house to support young people to attend appointment or activities at the last minute.

The award is given to a member of staff who has gone above and beyond their usual duties and nominations are submitted by peers.

Hayley, who works in Hondwith Ave Children’s Home, said the nomination has raised moral within the team and has made her feel more appreciated.

“My nomination was from all my team which means a lot.

“The employee of the month scheme has really boosted morale at Birtenshaw. To have received this award has really made me feel appreciated – especially because I have been nominated by my peers.”

Hayley, who has worked at Birtenshaw for over a year, said she loves to see young people with special needs and disability grow in confidence.

She said: “For me, the best part of the job is seeing the improvement in young people as they develop relationships and seeing them become more independent with our support.

“You see them develop into young adults.”

All winners of the employee of the month scheme will go into the draw for Employee Of The Year to mark Birtenshaw’s Diamond Jubilee year in 2016.
