As we all know its prom season again and after the success of Birtenshaw’s first prom last year everyone has been brimming with excitement. On 8 July Birtenshaw School pupils got all dressed up and ready for fun-filled evening to celebrate their achievements and mark the final term of the year.
In the run-up to the event all the young people got involved in making a big ‘Good Luck’ banner and beautiful table decorations as they prepared to say goodbye to three Birtenshaw School leavers. The school also received a number of donations from the members of the local community to make the hall look extra special, including balloons, bunting, lights and a delicious cake.
As the school day came to an end the pupils rushed home to get ready for the festivities that awaited. On arriving at the hall it was clear that everyone had made an effort with their smart suits and beautiful dresses. With our very own paparazzi at hand in the shape of Julie Barnes (Head Teacher) pupils were ready to strike their best pose as they walked through the garden on their way to the celebrations.
The evening was filled with lots of fun and games. The pupils enjoyed taking silly snaps in the photobooth and tucked into a delicious buffet, which they had helped prepare. Finally of course, the evening was topped off with lots of dancing!
Well done to all the pupils at Birtenshaw for being part of another fantastic year!
