Swimming Lessons at Birtenshaw School, Bolton!
Swimming keeps your heart and lungs healthy, improves strength and flexibility, increases stamina and even improves balance and posture. It also builds confidence and self-esteem by providing challenges and rewarding accomplishments, helping pupils to believe in their abilities.
Pupils at Birtenshaw School, Bolton have started swimming lessons in school with Swimming Instructor / Learning Support Assistant Tom, who trained at the Becky Adlington Training Centre and has been teaching pupils since the middle of November 2018.
Harrison and Zakir have a joint swimming lesson and they are currently working towards the ‘Learn to Swim Level 1 Award’. They have been working hard to meet their targets which include; entering the water safely, moving forward for a distance of 5 metres and describing how to stay safe in the pool.
Harrison and Zakir are both looking forward to receiving their certificate and badges once they have completed the award.
