A weekend well spent, brings a week of content
Last weekend we headed for Ainsdale Beach with all young people and staff looking forward to a great day out.
The beach provides the perfect space for a variety of sensory experiences with the sea, sand and rolling dunes all joining forces. Ample space means that young people can come together and socialise, play games and have fun, but also provide an opportunity for their own personal time during the day.
The young people spent the afternoon building sand castles, playing with the beach ball and football, and paddled in the sea. One young person independently bought their own bucket and spade from a stall, which was a significant achievement for them.
All tired out everyone settled down to have a picnic and enjoyed an ice cream before heading back home.
Colin, Registered Manager Designate at Children’s Short Breaks who organised the day:
“I want to say a big thank you to all the homes that could take part, the young people from Short Breaks and the Children’s Homes really enjoyed the day and some good friendships were made that can be built on with future planned activities. I am looking forward to many more of these days out!”
Hopefully the sunshine will be along for the ride too.
