Supported Tenancies

Birtenshaw Adult Supported Tenancies offers care and support to supported adults 18+ with a learning or physical disability including autism spectrum condition. The accommodation is provided within Bolton area, in regular homes that have been adapted, but is designed in such a way as to blend in with the surrounding houses. This maximises the possibility for the adults supported at Adult Supported Tenancies to feel as much a part of the local community as they wish. “Ordinary” housing within a person’s community is often the best choice for many supported adults with a learning or physical disability.

Birtenshaw wish to provide supported adults with the best choice in being supported to live independently. Adult Supported Tenancies provide and coordinate the personalised support, the supported adults require, in order to maximise choice and control over their own lives. This includes support with information to help the supported adults to make decisions. These decisions include, how their needs are met, how to access all community services such as transport, housing, education, training and health care, plus how to access support with personal budgets, care and support plans.
