Today we recognise World Sight Day (14 October), an annual day of awareness to focus attention on vision impairment worldwide.
In the UK, almost 2 million people are living with sight loss. Of these, around 360,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted. Vision impairment and blindness can have significant and long-lasting effects on all aspects of life, including daily personal activities and the ability to access public services.
We aim to raise awareness about the difficulties people face with vision impairments and educate people to be aware of their eye health.
