Learners at Birtenshaw College Bolton get great enjoyment from being outdoors. Group 2 teacher, Ewa, works with learners to plant, grow and harvest fresh vegetables and herbs in the garden at the college to use and cook within the college kitchen.
Learners are always curious and take enjoyment from this type of practical and creative learning. Sometimes this type of learning can be the start of a lifelong passion for gardening. Learners also get the satisfaction of watching something grow from a tiny seed into a beautiful plant.
